I’m sure no one is surprised after the shenanigans we’ve seen from this administration so far, but now Biden is coming for your right to free speech. The right to speak freely is one of the most sacred rights we have as Americans. Look to China and other dictatorships where people can be imprisoned or killed for speaking out against the government. You may think that it couldn’t happen here. But, if you’ve been paying attention over the past 6 months, you can see just how far our nation has already fallen. There are plenty of people who can clearly see what is happening to our country. But there are also plenty more who are oblivious. It’s time for the American public to wake up before we don’t have a country left.
Monitoring social media
The Biden administration has recently admitted that they will be looking for “misinformation” across social media platforms. Who gets to judge what’s considered misinformation? Most of the things you see on the nightly news would be classified as such by many people. Why does our government have the right to decide what information gets out there? They want to control the narrative to keep the public in line. While most of the offending posts are vaccine or COVID-19 related, it won’t be long before they go after anything that criticizes the regime. Many people are now comparing these efforts to the Ministry of Truth from George Orwell’s 1984. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you pick up a copy ASAP. The similarities of the current situation in the United States to the dystopian society in the novel are shocking.
Jen Psaki wants you banned
A very recent news briefing from famous “circle-back” Psaki gave a little glimpse of what the Biden administration has planned. She claims that people who are banned on one social media platform, for sharing “misinformation,” should be banned on other platforms. The government should not be working with social media platforms to prevent people from communicating with each other. That is an egregious overreach of power. Everyone needs to remember that our elected officials work for us. The power they have is given by the people. Only tyrants seek to control citizens in this way.
The men who founded our country realized the importance of free speech. They valued it so much that it was written into the very first amendment to the U.S. Consitution. When citizens can’t speak freely, it gives control to the government. But the United States was created to give power to the people. The path to dictatorship doesn’t come all at once. It’s like the old fable about boiling a frog. If you drop the frog in boiling water, it will jump out immediately to save itself. But if you put the frog in cold water and slowly turn up the temperature, the frog doesn’t sense the danger. We are the frogs and our government is slowly cranking that dial. Soon, we’ll be at boiling and it will be too late.
