I do not vacuum, I robot.
My in-laws love gadgets. They are known to have the latest fad machine or toy at their house. When we bought our current house four years ago, we had a two week period between the sale of our former house and our current house. My in-laws were gracious enough to host us for the two week period.
My mother-in-law had purchased a vacuuming robot after hearing her neighbor rave about its efficiency. I thought it was just a gimmick machine. While we were staying in their home, I did my best to do my part and help keep the house clean. I decided to give the fancy gadget a try.
I quickly fell in love. I watched the machine whirl around the house as I washed dishes and did laundry, picking up dirt and crumbs as it moved around. It was amazing. I decided very quickly, that we would purchase our own robot for our home.
Our new home was a single level and had installed hard wood floors throughout the entire house. It was a no-brainer to get the robot to help. I could either sweep our entire home, or I could buy a fancy cumbersome vacuum that would need a closet to store it. I chose the robot and love it for many reasons.
Why I love my robot:
*I can multitask while my floors get clean.
*It can get under our beds and clean the dust bunnies.
*I can shut the door to a room with the robot in it and clean another in the same time frame.
*It does not need a closet to store it. Ours remains plugged under our bed.
*It can run while we are not home.
*The filter is easy to clean, replace and it is easy to dump trash.
Of course, the robot is not without some work. Due to long hair in our home, ours must be cleaned out every-other cleaning; it is mainly the brushes that need a good clean to keep it running smoothly. In addition, it has certain places in our home that it gets stuck and needs some human help to move again.
Despite the little maintenance it requires, if ours bites the dust anytime soon, I will be getting another.
