While I admit I’m opening this post with a bit of tongue-in-cheek, I can’t help but notice a stark contrast between the Trump and Biden administrations. Trump took down drug cartels, human sex traffickers, child molesters and ISIS. Biden is taking down Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head.
As for Dr. Seuss, I’ve been wondering what the real reason is that the Biden administration and other leftists might have for wanting to cancel this iconic series in children’s literature. A few possibilities come to mind. Dr. Seuss’s stories don’t align with the leftist narrative. In fact, in many ways, the messages contained in the books directly oppose everything that Biden and his party stand for. Let’s look at some examples.
Dr. Seuss wrote about the Cold War
In “The Butter Battle Book,” Dr. Seuss presents an allegory about the arms race of 1984. The story is critical of the Cold War. It also teaches children to show respect for people whose appearance or opinions are different from their own. Hmmm…that’s contradictory to leftist extremism, which persecutes and punishes any person who does not agree with its narrative.
The true meaning of Christmas is told by Dr. Seuss
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” reminds us all that Christmas is about loving and giving and unity and peace among people. Perhaps if the Grinch had not converted and softened his heart, but instead, destroyed Whoville with his greed and power and succeeded in cancelling Christmas, then the Biden team wouldn’t be so opposed.
Thidwick the Big-hearted Moose
This Dr. Seuss favorite teaches children that it’s okay to say, “No” when needed. It’s okay to stand up for yourself and avoid overextending yourself by always saying yes to everything everyone asks you to do. It teaches a lesson about self-care and self-love and doing what’s needed for your own well-being. Why would Biden want to cancel that message?
Confront problems head-on
In “I had Trouble Getting to Solla Sollew,” Dr. Seuss shows children that running away from their problems never solves anything. Instead, they learn to face their problems head-on. The cancel culture doesn’t want kids to grow up confident and capable of solving their own problems. Why? Because a dictatorship wants the populous to be solely dependent on government and to feel incapable of making its own decisions or providing for itself.
Why would Biden want to cancel “The Lorax”?
Extreme leftists pretend that they care about the environment. What they really care about, however, is power and money. The underlying message in “The Lorax,” which is one of Dr. Seuss’s best selling books of all time, is that nature and the environment must be protected from corporate-greed-driven destruction.
Let’s not forget about Horton
If you ask me, this story might be the single most important reason that the Biden administration, which is aggressively working to codify abortion laws, wants to rid the world of Dr. Seuss. This famous line: A person is a person, no matter how small, has been embraced by pro-life advocates across the country. It is a truth all children should know. It is clear why those who support the evil agenda of infanticide would want to take this book off the shelves.
In communist countries, life is not sacred. A person is not a person because a person is considered government property. The government rules over all, telling families how many members per household they can have. Children who grow up reading Dr. Seuss stories, especially “Horton Hears a Who,” understand that every life is precious and that every person matters, even those who are so small, no one can see them (i.e., babies at conception).
Don’t let Dr. Seuss disappear
Dr. Seuss has done more good for our country than Joe Biden ever has in his 40+ years of working in government. In fact, there is no record to be found of beneficial things Biden has done for America. There’s a swiftly developing list of things he has done that have caused immediate and projected long-term harm.
It’s odd that Dr. Seuss’s Enterprises has agreed to stop selling a number of its books after conferring with “specialists” who helped them realize that some of the stories are “harmful.” WHAT??? I can only imagine who those “specialists” are and what was said to produce this type of result.
Keep reading Dr. Seuss to your children and grand-children
Many parents are buying up all the hard copy Dr. Seuss books that are left while they can. It’s a good idea. Don’t be afraid to share these wonderful stories with your children. Never hesitate to inculcate the beautiful life lessons contained in these books. And by all means, teach your children that censorship is wrong and that the U.S. Constitution, under the First Amendment, protects free speech, even if Big Tech and government officials are violating people’s rights.
