Social media users beware. You might want to think about the accuracy of the news stories you read if you use Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. The mainstream media is also not a reliable source for accurate news. I stopped watching most mainstream news networks years ago. I realized that were reporting unreliable information. Social media outlets are removing posts that don’t follow a certain narrative. Plus, they are shadowbanning users who post information that the executives disagree with. You can’t believe everything you read on social media and the mainstream media outlets. In fact, you’re in for a rude awakening if you blindingly trust any of it. These information sources are controlling America through censorship.
Shadowbanning and fact-checking
Big tech companies want to control the media. I don’t personally use Facebook or Twitter. But I’ve read stories and heard personal accounts about how they control what information is seen. Social media platforms should have some control when it comes to threats or abuse. But, it should stop there. These social media outlets were created to give people a way to connect and communicate. It’s not their job to censor information simply because their executives have different beliefs. I’ve seen Instagram accounts shadowbanned because they post political content that doesn’t support their preferred ideologies. Social media also uses fact-checking to censor content they don’t like. Accuracy in the media is important. But, if they’re going to fact-check, it should apply to posts of all types.
Problems with the mainstream media
The media’s job is to report the news. Reports should contain only facts unless they are labeled as opinion pieces. Most mainstream media outlets assume that Americans are too stupid to come to conclusions based on reading facts. Instead, they want to spin information. The media gives partial stories and provides biased statistics to influence readers to their way of thinking. Mainstream media networks like CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and others have long abandoned their responsibility to report the news. They ignore stories that don’t support their ideologies. Try viewing some alternate news sources. You may be shocked to see how much information is left out when the mainstream media is doing the reporting.
Social media and the mainstream media want to control the news through censorship. They don’t report the facts. These media sources don’t want Americans to form opinions based on real information. They skew data, report only part of the story, or insert their personal opinions. America was founded on some very basic principles, most of which are related to individual freedom. Americans have the right to reliable and truthful news sources. Censorship has no place in our nation. Now is the time to fight back. Look for other news sources. Take everything you read on social media with a grain of salt. We can stop supporting mainstream media. Then, they will have to make changes in the way they do things. If you want news you can depend on, this is the time to take action.
